The $6 Skin Care Changer

I'm one of those lucky people who has never had to worry about their skin. It's so nice to not have to worry! JUST KIDDING. I've had acne in some form since middle school. I never had the all over acne that covers your skin, but I've always pretty consistently had a few (rather large) pimples on my face at a time.

About two years ago I started using Clinique. It worked amazing and really changed my skin, but over the past few months I just haven't been able to keep my acne under control. I know there are worse problems to have, of course, but having acne is embarrassing and it's hard to cover. I hated going out like that, especially at 26, but I didn't have very many options.

My sister-in-law started using apple cider vinegar and started to see results right away. But she is one of the lucky ones who has beautiful skin just about all of the time. She recommended her new find to me and I immediately dismissed it. I have been clutching so hard to my 3 step systems for so long I wasn't ready to try something else, I mean if a 3 step system couldn't help me how could this?

But then I heard Scarlett Johansson swear by apple cider vinegar and I mean... If it works for her? Haha! I got to a point where I just said "whatever! I've tried everything else!" My boyfriend helped me find the right kind of Apple cider vinegar at 11:30 pm after date night haha!  But I was excited to give this a try.

3 weeks in and I'm hooked. I don't know the science behind it so I won't try to pitch you there, but I haven't had a break out since I started using this. My oily (monster) skin has been completely transformed. I've always had to carry a compact with me because half way through the day my face looks like a slip and slide... But you guys, it's not like that anymore. My overall skin has changed in such a short amount of time.

Disclaimer: your skin might smell like tossed salad. 🙈

I have been receiving compliments on my skin already and I've been trying to share the $6 find with just about everyone! So here's how I make it:

  1. I bought Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. After a lot of research I found this was the best. I found it in the organic section at Wegmans for about $6.
  2. I bought a travel size shampoo bottle to store the toner in. It has an easy open top that makes it like a toner bottle you would buy at the store.
  3. I mix 1 part ACV and 2 1/2 parts water. My skin is pretty oily so 2 1/2 parts works for me, if you feel your skin start to get dry you should just add more water!
  4. I use this mixture in the morning and at night on a cotton pad with absolutely nothing else on my skin. No lotion, no make up remover, nothing. I use coconut oil to remove my eye make up but that's it.  *Since I stopped using make up remover for my skin, I will sometimes use this mixture twice at night just to make sure I removed all of my make up and cleaned my skin.
