Holiday Look - Part 2
Officially in the holiday season! Which means parties, carbs, and alcohol - not necessarily in that order!
I've always loved the feel of fabric but it's always reminded me of really bad bridesmaids dresses and huge hair so I've naturally always cringed near velvet. Luckily, like so many styles, velvet has come a long way! Velvet is a beautiful fabric to wear around the holidays, but it can be tricky to wear without adding the look of a few extra lbs to your body (the cringe is coming back..)! If done correctly, it can be absolutely beautiful:
I am personally totally a fan of rompers in the winter! It's just a little bit edgier of a look than wearing a dress and a whole lot more unexpected. When it comes to rompers in the winter, I prefer black bottomed rompers with tights. I have found that printed rompers give off a springier vibe and that's not exactly the look we are trying to give off.
When I saw this velvet romper, I fell in love! I am definitely between sizes at the Loft, sometimes I am a 2 and sometimes I am a 6. With this romper, I went right in the middle, I definitely did not want the velvet to be too tight otherwise it can look trashy and you can look even heavier, obviously not the ultimate goal here! Like I said, velvet can be perfect for the holidays so give this look a try this season!
P.S. if you're interested in picking up this romper - try to hold off until Loft has a 40% or 50% off sale! That way you won't break the bank on yourself this season!
