Fall Style - Dresses & Tights
I've said it before, I know I have, but just bear with me here! I love fall style. Layering, tights, knits - oh my! I pulled this look together for a day of weekend shopping with my bestie. I love a mix-match look that combines feminine and more masculine (moto boots) pieces.
I would consider myself a total morning person. I like to get up early and, even if I stay in bed for a while and catch up on shows, tend to have a pretty tough time ever falling back asleep. That being said, especially in the fall and winter months, sleep is sacred to me! I'll do just about anything/sacrifice just about anything to stay in bed for an extra 5 minutes, especially when I wake up and it's still dark out. That makes dresses in the fall a NO BRAINER to me. They are so easy to throw on with tights and be out the door in just a few minutes. I don't need to fuss about finding the right top, worrying if my jeans are stretched out, etc. Dresses are a "one-and-done" which makes them a total style staple for me.
I personally love a moto boot with tights for a total mix-match look, but I've actually had these boots for about two years and I've never worn them. I pulled them out this weekend and got a bunch of compliments.
As a shortie, I do sometimes have a tough time with dress lengths and thick tights/booties. I don't want to look frumpy or heavier by any means. This is why I 100% recommend having a tailor on speed dial. A quick hem can make all the difference in your look and actually make you look longer and leaner. Another helpful tip? Black tights and black boots make your legs look SO incredibly long. Wear this look as often as possible (ha!).
*Style recommendation: I buy all of my tights from Express. I always buy this pair or this one - and they often have buy 1, get 1 50% off sales on their tights. Totally worth the money as I've never had a pair rip on me!
