First Wedding of the Season
As I mentioned yesterday, I had the best time at a wedding this weekend!
Today's blog post is going to be a little different! It's going to focus on a dress I don't own - and a makeup look that I didn't create haha! As previously mentioned, I love Rent the Runway and they definitely came through for me for this wedding! I'll share details of my dress first - and talk makeup second - so keep reading!
For me, renting is always the smartest option, especially for wedding season. I never want to wear something that's already in my closet on such a special occasion, but I also can't afford to go out and buy so many dresses. I have 5 weddings this summer - that definitely adds up in the wardrobe department! I mentioned in my RTR post that you should always have your dress arrive 2 days early, but this time I didn't have that ability since the size I needed couldn't be shipped to me until day of. I had the package arrive at the hotel and didn't try it on until we were just about to head out the door (I brought a backup option with me just in case).
I would say all-in-all, I loved this dress! It showed a little more chest than I am typically comfortable with, but I did my best to manage it through the night!
Now, on to makeup! Like I'm sure everyone does (I think?) I am obsessed with watching YouTube videos to learn new tips & tricks. I loved the makeup video that I watched and actually really like the way it looked on me! I'll share her video below - and since I didn't have exactly the same products as her, I'll share what I used as well (she did a red lip, I did tan)!
Definitey follow her steps and do your eyes first. There is a lot of "falling" shadow with this look that you wouldn't want to get on your foundation. I actually wiped away the excess shadow under my eyes before moving forward. Scroll down for a list of what I used!
These are the only pictures I really have to showcase my makeup (sorry for the selfies haha)! Next time I'll remember to bring my camera and have Luke snap a pic!
